Michael Kinsley is a Contributing Writer for Vanity Fair, where his column appears monthly. Over a long career in the media, he has been Managing Editor of the Washington Monthly, Editor of the New Republic, and Editorial and Opinion Editor of the Los Angeles Times. He was the Founding Editor of Slate, one of the first on-line magazines. For over six years Kinsley was the liberal host of Crossfire, a CNN show where he sparred with Pat Buchanan five days a week. He played a similar role for many years with William F. Buckley on PBS’s Firing Line. He has written for The New Yorker, Conde Nast Traveler, and other publications. His book, ‘Old Age: A Beginner’s Introduction’ will be published in April.
